Win the Crowne Plaza Invitational at colonial country club in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 30, Johnson sank more than 100 feet of putts Zach, during the last nine holes of the tournament. He made 24 birdies 72 holes.
Here what Johnson instructor, Pat O'Brien's, said his notify student putting stroke:
"He's kind of old Schule.Er keeps the putter in the Palm of the left hand." I advocate the finger to keep it, but there is no way, I would try anyone like Zach change.
"The place that we for his grip to the left wrist make a little during Setup is Cup." This lock on it, so that nothing breaks.
"I learned this from Payne Stewart." He was always a belly putter until last year his Lebens.Er cupping, began that wrist. "He got a foundation and a system, and he became one of the best putter in the world."
O'Brien's simple philosophy: "the whole idea of implementation is to return to the square impact without about nachzudenken.Das Johnson applies to all, not only Zach."
"To me came with zach Griff.Wir met us in the year 2000 at a buy.com event in Richland, Washington." We began to work together in 2001."Right away I asked him, Cup, the wrist leave."
Johnson was a poster child for addressing the ball with the putter shaft that slightly angled backwards.
"Sometimes I get him more (just) up and down (with the shaft)," O'Brien said, "but he does so many things so well."Success in implementing is all about Setup flow and proper basis to go where it should go to allow the putter.
"With Zach and many good putter are the mechanism.""Nothing goes away to erhalten.Es (making putts) happens due to the flow of things, the timing and the rhythm."
O'Brien stresses a putting stroke without swing thoughts: "I teach golfers (mainly amateurs) all the time, endlessly in mechanics and positions to focus and thoughts - all garbage to schwingen.Sie can not Golf, is putting on this Weise.Gute everything about physically calm down and allows to that freedom of movement."
Johnson Lake FGP putter is 34 inches long with 2.5 degree loft.Johnson is so smooth and technically sound according to O'Brien, the putter head is never manipulated during the stroke.
"The stroke just happens," said O'Brien, who teaches at the Lakewood country club in Dallas, Texas."Zach allows geschehen.Der putter is designed to swing (perfect) on a plane."
In addition to O'Brien's Johnson support team includes swing teachers Mike Bender, named 2009 National Teacher of the year by the PGA of America, and sport psychologist Morris Pickens.
Frankly, O'Brien said: "When it comes to sports psychology only works if you have an inherent belief, the the putter back ranked bekommen.Dies happens only if you have the proper installation and understanding."
Johnson has and O'Brien says you can also.
"" People can learn, putting,"said O'Brien."I think this with all my heart and my Seele.Auf website (www.patobriengolf.com) I give practically all my information entfernt.Ich'm thrilled by all golfers improve help.
"Perhaps the most golfers can not the ball straight as far as Zach, but you can learn Putten as he it macht.Ich think dies.Ich think really there."
